The challenge
Penn&Ink N.Y is a Dutch women's fashion brand. Each season, styles are released in multiple colors, and every variant had to be photographed separately for the webshop and for retail partners. This required considerable investment in photography, samples and planning for every collection. The process was costly and time-consuming.
The solution
Nodient developed an AI platform that replaces the entire photography process for all packshots. The platform generates studio-quality product images in every color of the collection. To get the colors exactly right, it combines color theory with machine learning: it predicts how a color will look on a specific fabric in real life and then fixes that color deterministically. As a result, every image matches the actual garment.
Our approach
The project started with research into color accuracy: how do AI images compare to photos of the same garments? Based on that analysis, a model was trained to predict color reproduction per fabric. The platform was then expanded in phases, in close collaboration with the team, to cover Penn&Ink's complete photography process, from individual garments to entire collections.
